    to-do-list-padFinancial Goals for Spring 2010

Yes, I think in semester’s.  Here is what I am contemplating for this semester:

    1. Make my 2010 Roth IRA Contribution
    2. Roll over 401(k) from my holiday job to a Roth or transfer it to my brokerage
    3. Find more affordable car insurance before February 11
    4. Obtain a credit report from one of the three agencies
    5. Budget/Keep track of my expenses
    6. Diversify my investments

  • Very clever, splitting up your financial goals by semesters! That makes sense especially at this time in your life, where everything is very dynamic.

I think for #2, you might have to roll your 401(k) to a traditional IRA, and then to a Roth IRA.

Someday, I’ll have to do #4 (free credit report) too, it only makes sense!

I got burned by not diversifying (#6) my investment in 2007, from now on I’ll be rebalancing my portfolio often…

Sounds like some great goals for the semester!

    Good luck! :)

I am really confused about #2 and I think you may be right in that I need to do a regular IRA before I can do a Roth IRA.
